Project Overview

Instead of replacing complete workstations, IHS helped modernize 32 existing desks by retrofitting them with height-adjustable bases, improving ergonomics while preserving usable assets and reducing waste.

IHS completed a retrofit project for the Ministry of Indigenous Affairs and First Nations Economic Reconciliation offices in Toronto, converting 32 traditional fixed-height workstations into height-adjustable desks.

The project focused on reusing existing worksurfaces where possible while upgrading each station with electric height-adjustable bases. This approach helped modernize the workspace, improve ergonomic flexibility, and reduce unnecessary replacement costs and material waste.

The result was a practical, low-disruption workstation upgrade that extended the life of existing office assets while giving staff a more flexible and comfortable work environment.

The Story

Instead of replacing complete workstations, IHS helped modernize 32 existing desks by retrofitting them with height-adjustable bases, improving ergonomics while preserving usable assets and reducing waste. This positions the project not as a furniture purchase, but as a smart, sustainable modernization — a meaningful differentiator for government clients.
